4 large cloves of garlic

1 TBSP chili flakes

1 TBSP kosher salt

5 lemons juiced

1 cup + 2 TBSP Extra virgin olive oil

1 cup finely grated parmigiano reggiano

Savory Kale Salad Recipe w/ Parmesan

3-4 tablespoons of olive oil

1/4 cup lemon juice (one lemon)

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 bunches black kale (lacinato, dinosaur, etc.)

1/2 cup grated parmesan — get the good stuff

1/4 cup toasted breadcrumbs

Parmesan for cheese shavings garnish

This super quick kale salad recipe will remind you of your favorite Cesar salad, but without all the dressing! It features my favorite deep dark green lacinato kale. You will love this recipe as a savory contrast to the sweeter Massaged Kale with Cranberries and Sunflower Seeds.

The lemon juice with a little salt magically wilts down the greens making them soft and luxurious. I like to give this one a quick massage speed up the process and make it extra tender, but you can also just let the lemon and salt work their wilting magic over a few hours. Check out the video to learn how-to massage the kale!

Kale Salad with Citrus Avocado Dressing

6 - 8 lacinato or dinosaur kale leaves

1 avocado

juice of 1 orange

juice of 1 lemon

10 - 12 grape tomatoes, cut in half

1 tbsp hemp seed (optional)

sea salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup of quinoa

The first time I tried kale it completely turned me off because it was bitter and tough. I love bitter melon but I'm putting my foot down on this one. Then one day, my co-workers and I rode the train to the Phoenix airport and had lunch over at Chelsea's kitchen. They had this kale salad but it wasn't what I ordered because I didn't want to pay for a meal that I'm absolutely going to hate. However, my co-worker urged me to try her kale salad and perhaps I would order it the next time we dine there. When I tasted it, my eyes went wide open and I said...OH MY WORD!!! I didn't realize that kale could be sooo delicious. I mean, this was unbelieva-brah! Because of this salad, I was inspired to create my own version.

So, the next time you make a salad instead of using an iceburg or romaine lettuce, why not try kale. Did you know that kale is rich in vitamins A, C & K and it's only 34 calories per cup serving. My Kale salad with citrus avocado dressing is sweet, tangy and creamy. I urge you to try kale and I'll make a kale believer out of you.

Wondering how to make fruits and greens salad? uses a basic lemon, honey and olive oil dressing, keeping it light and fresh. It is best to have this salad fresh. In fact, I like to mix the fruits and vegetables together and keep it refrigerated. And keep the salad dressing separately. And mix it at the time of serving. Salads are a great filler meal or when you are not in a mood to load up on carbs. This salad contains enough fibre and is quite filling too.

Simple Alkaline Salad Recipe!

Purple cabbage. Make sure you marinate it separately with a sprinkle of salt and 2 tbsp of lemon juice and then massage it until it becomes as tender as you want it.

Lettuce. Here you see red leaf lettuce and romaine.

Cucumbers, sliced.

Carrots, sliced.

Peppers, sliced.

Zucchini, sliced.

Raspberry on top, after you add the avocado dressing.

Alkaline salads are my absolute favorite raw vegan lunch salads. Topped with a creamy high alkaline dressing, your fresh, colorful raw vegan lunch salad will turn heads and raise eyebrows at work.

It is hard to go wrong with an alkaline diet with all the talk about healthy eating lately. Alkalinity does more than prevent and heal chronic inflammation; it also makes delicious food!

That’s why I’m so excited about the alkaline meals. I want to make sure every alkaline salad recipe and high alkaline dressing has some flavor that revives your senses while still being light enough on your digestive system during weekdays and weekends.

I love vibrant salad for its fresh taste, but I also crave alkaline salads’ energizing effect. These will hydrate my every cell and give me a boost of good energy throughout my day!

Probiotic-Rich Healthy Asian Salad | Organixx Recipe

Looking for the best Asian salad recipe or even how to make an Asian salad? Join Katrina as she walks you through the steps.

The base of the salad as shown in the video is cabbage, romaine lettuce, carrot, and bell peppers. But feel free to add other veggies you love to this crunchy Asian salad. Really, there's no right or wrong way to make shredded Asian salad. The only limit is your imagination and/or what's in your fridge.

That being said, there are a couple of veggies and herbs, in particular, that we encourage you to keep in this simple Asian salad for their health benefits:

The first is the herb cilantro, due to its ability to help cleanse the body of toxic metals such as mercury, arsenic, and lead. We understand that cilantro isn't everyone's favorite -- to some people it tastes soapy. If cilantro tastes bad to you, then omit it. But if it doesn't, it's a good source of iron, magnesium, and manganese, as well as having anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

The other important ingredient in this salad is cabbage, which is an excellent source of vitamins K, C, and B6. It's also a good source of fiber, manganese, potassium, vitamin B1, folate, and copper. If cabbage just isn't your thing, substitute leafy greens, or even some shredded broccoli or cauliflower. The dressing really is so good you can use it on almost any salad fixings.

Also called Asian slaw is a terrific Asian salad that pairs great with any Asian meal. Asian salads are usually full of fresh flavors, known for their amazing textures, and super easy to make. Traditional coleslaw has a mix of shredded cabbage and carrot. Asian coleslaw has additional ingredients of crunchy bean sprouts, fresh herbs, and of course a terrific dressing.

Tomato Basil Salad

▢750g/ 1.5lb cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes (or large tomatoes)

▢1/2 red onion , finely sliced

▢1/2 cup basil leaves , tightly packed, finely sliced (Note 2)

▢1 tbsp cider vinegar (Note 3 for others)

▢2.5 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

▢1/2 tsp dijon mustard (or other non spicy mustard)

▢1/2 tsp each salt and pepper

This fresh, juicy tomato salad brings together two of the greatest flavour combinations known to mankind – tomato and basil! Make this with cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes, or even normal tomatoes cut into chunks.

The vinaigrette is slightly thickened with mustard so it clings to the tomato better, and a touch of red onion provides some much needed freshness.

Cucumber Tomato Salad (Mediterranean Salad - Easy Salad Recipe)

▢6 Roma tomatoes, diced (about 3 cups diced tomatoes)

▢1 large English or hot-house cucumber, diced

▢½ small red onion, thinly sliced, optional

▢¾ bunch parsley, leaves and tender stems chopped (about ½-3/4 cup chopped leaves)

▢Kosher salt, to taste

▢½ teaspoon black pepper

▢1 teaspoon ground Sumac

▢2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

▢2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, plus more to taste

Cucumber tomato salad goes by a different name where I grew up in Egypt: salata! It is an everyday Mediterranean salad made of three main ingredients: tomatoes, cucumbers, and parsley. It’s seasoned simply with kosher salt, though I like to add sumac for a little tang and depth.

This simple Mediterranean salad is as traditional as they come. It’s very representative of the regions’ agricultural roots and the fresh flavors we continue to love to this day. It where salads like fattoush or tabouli derive inspiration. You can dress it up by adding some red onion, as I do here, or toss in some feta cheese for a little salty goodness. Let inspirationbe y our guide.
